caffeinatedmetalhead I was first introduced to Aerial Ruin back in December of 2022 at Substation in Seattle. He was originally set to appear with Bell Witch to perform Stygian Bough as an opening act for Pallbearer. Due to unforseen circumstances, Bell Witch couldn't make it. Erik's set was hauntingly beautiful and helped set the tone for what was yet to come. This style of folk evokes despair yet some semblance of hope. It really does leave you, as many have said here, spellbound or enratpured. Favorite track: The Flame's Intent.

D.10635 I didnt think nameless sun could be beat, but i was proved wrong. Ideation is pure psychedelic bliss. What a beautiful song! Favorite track: Ideation.

pinkytheent Wow. Play this record as they lower me down into the earth or scatter my ashes to the trees. Aerial Ruin has mastered the art of emotive and expressive acoustic playing in which every note has you hanging on its every whisper and the chords lay you flat with their heavy strength, while delicate and heart-tugging melodies and haunting overlapped vocals weave between, holding you spellbound. All that I love of mysterious and spiritual dark folk in the vein of Jonathan Hulten excels here. Favorite track: Where Sky Lays Buried.

RJ Erik Moggridge has returned with his haunting and atmospheric approach to folk music. His echoing vocals reverberate overtop dark-folk acoustic instrumentation that when blended with violin comes to a head during 'Ideation.' 7/10 Favorite track: Ideation.

giventofly87 Aerial Ruin is my new favorite discovery in metal - haunting, beautiful guitars, gorgeous lyricism and all of the feeling of drone while still blissful in the haunting acoustic tones. I have every intention of owning everything from this artist; incredible music. Favorite track: Where Sky Lays Buried.

When seen in sunlight you stole away Where bathed in shadow this road would stray Where held in reverie, or is it disdain This path is only the road where you’re slain What seems familiar is so they say The path you travel on burning day Until these seconds exhume the way Where sky lays buried neath soil and clay Would it lead through shadow will it rise and strain Would it widen out of the upheld veil of the stain Would it lead through fallow of field And fall as the reign Would it lead the arrow of time through shadow Shimmering glade Refracting the shade Essence unmade Winged in fray For crumbling stone And need to attone And wars overflown Are only your own Are they to feign Along with the stain Hold to true south where the left leading struggle will flow as a tide Stagger through flames as they reach for the sky Hold anew wind neath these wings that have bled from your glistening sides Taken the air as the path is aglide But there in the distance behold a dark mountainous breach of the plane It Calls to the air as it welcomes the slain For what seems unending Is decay in a frequent incline Where gravity shackles your footsteps Through a passage you struggle to find Would the edges now fray in the bramble Where the foot falls on root laden twine Where the forms now encluster the shadow Where the nettles take hold of this narrowing way Here the pathway will only decline An end of passage a leave from rage Will still elude you through journeys age But there awaiting neath leaves of sage The words of prophet thus bound in page The words of prophet thus bound in page Will words of prophet now fall away With no more struggle to know the fray

“Not the sap beneath the furrowed bark Nor a wing attached to a claw But rather a garden forever in bloom Or angels forever in flight Beauty is life, when life unveils her holy face But you are life and you are the veil” “As the stone must break That it’s heart may stand in the sun Caged taking wing, fein would have you sing With fullness of heart not lost in the song Night bound eyes are blind, blind unto the day From river of silence will you you indeed sing” For the words upon the cherished page And the wings that are only to fall The gathering garden is ever the doom When angels will vanish from flight Beauty is light, when light unveils her holy rays But you are light, wherever you stray And you are night and vanishing day And you are flight if ever you fray

Less the way will be but more familiar than prophet’s cries Stole you with the web of no surprise Comfort in the screams familiar shadow and waves of fire Less the path you seek than your desire Able body low and woe to fill your disdain of ire again Wrap within the web the savior’s end Where wings thus wrought in flame again May burn under sun less the name When singed you sought to claim the end Where turned left the pathway still to bend Through days thus fought The same to fend To earn frail of mortal cares they send ...where singed...we sing... ...we are singed...we sin... Left the path you seek and more familiar Sold you with the flesh Left the path you seek and more familiar Told the path you bled Left the path you seek and so familiar Hold to where you led Left the path you seek and more familiar Hold the path that bled Left the path you seek and more familiar Sold you where they fled For sin thus taught the flames intent These burning tales immortal hail descent Where wings thus wrought in flame again May burn under sun less the name When singed you sought to claim the end Where turned left the pathway still to bend

Ideation 21:27
Deviation Out beyond the twisted poles Idol nation Will fall below terrestrial fold Cracks enable And strain to twist you where they writhe Realization Is this the scream you cast aside Ideation Where cracks deceive a broken soul Ideation Ideation Where cracks receive an open soul Ideation ...all… ...are… ...none… Bleed twisted sun For where it's now begun Behold seething one When all is said and done Rise and strain neath sickened rays Would it lead through tales of black of black embrace Where lies only kill For over the blackest chill Eyes away sight unseen For over the dead in dream Skies once grey singe as one No other to count as done Time in fade shackle gone So cover the find and linger on Eye in shade mass in ton Forever will be undone Breach on rise...unfold Cleave from lies...untold Freed from tide and cold Seed divide...behold
